Below information taken from Ralph Perry's post

In the late 1880s, Charles Bird King was commissioned to paint Indian Chiefs that visited Washington.
Luckily these paintings were copied, as they originals were lost in a late 1880s Smithsonian Museum fire.

Goudey clearly selected a number of them to use for their images for Indian Gum in the 1930s.

So far, after exhaustively reviewing the entire library of lithos and the R73 set, I'm fairly confident about a half dozen
of these lithos were clearly the ancestor for an R73 card image and have been able to pair these up.

The lithos used for the cards are a little bit expensive, but not outrageous and, frankly, they are works of art and just gorgeous,
offering all kinds of opportunities for framing treatments, etc.

For those who love Goudey's "Greatest Penny Value" (and in my opinion, the greatest card set of all time), Indian Gum,
your collection is about to expand in an unexpected direction!
