THE BLACK FLAME OF THE AMAZON was a syndicated 1930s Mutual Network radio program
sponsored by Hi-Speed Gasoline.
It dramatized the adventures of explorer Harold Noice in the jungles of South America.
Fans could write for official Black Flame Amazon premiums:
1. Mask - 8.75 x 9.75" die-cut stiff paper w/"Hi-Speed" gas logo at center of
headband design. Depicts Amazon warrior w/war paint.
2. Pinback - Black Flame Hi-Speed Explorer 1" tin with image of snarling jaguar.
3. Ring - Black Flame of the Amazon "Hi-Speed Explorer" brass ring w/adjustable bands
and inset compass on the top. One side has jaguar head and reads .. Hi-Speed.. while other
side shows flaming torch and reads ..Explorer..

5.Stamps were given out on a weekly basis by participating gas stations. They featured
UNUSUAL ANIMALS, SAVAGES AND ALSO THE SCENIC BEAUY OF THE JUNGLE
