N553/T313 Fashion Cut Plug Novelties Metamorphic insert cards. Refold to make funny/unusual pictures, much like the 1950s/1960s Topps issues. 1 picture and 2 brand ads on front. 2 pictures and 1 brand ad on back with factory/district number. Since the factory/district numbering did not come into use until the early 20th century, this issue should actually have been numbered with the 'T' cards. The new North American Tobacco Issues Part I reference book (NATI1) has assigned this set the new reference number of T313. It used to be N553. The N553 Fashion Cut Plug Interesting Novelties set is a triple folder type set that allows the holder to flip back and forth on the cards to create different scenes with the different flaps of the card. The set appears to be the forerunner of some of the Topps sets of the 1960's as there are a number of "foldee" sets that Topps created. Also cataloged as T313 in the ACC. 1): (Bald Front/Glasses/Handlebar Mustache) (2): (Bald Profile/Glasses/Mustache) (3): (Bald/Glasses/Chin Curtain) (4): (Bald/No Glasses/No Facial Hair) (5): (Bucket Hat/Glasses/Beard) (6): (Fedora/No Glasses/Van Dyke) (7): (Fez/Glasses/Mustache) (8): (Fez/No Glasses/Mustache) (9): (Flat Cap/No Glasses/No Facial Hair) (10): (Flat Cap/No Glasses/Pencil Mustache) (11): (Fuzzy Top Hat/Glasses/Sideburns) (12): (Mortarboard/Glasses/Van Dyke) (13): (Partially Bald/Glasses/Friendly Muttonchops) (14): (Smokey Bear Hat/No Glasses/No Facial Hair) (15): (Straw Hat/Monicle/No Facial Hair) (16): (Straw Hat/No Glasses/Cigar) (17): (Straw Hat/No Glasses/Pipe) (18): (Student Cap/No Glasses/Goatee) (19): (Student Cap/No Glasses/Walrus Moustache) (20): (Top Hat/Glasses/No Facial Hair) (21): (Top Hat/No Glasses/Friendly Mutton Chops) (22): (Tossled Hair/No Glasses/Full Beard) (23): (Turban/No Glasses/Van Dyke) (24): (25):
