Novelty Gum - League of Nations - R80 Information below taken, in part from Robert Edwards Auction, May 2009

1934 R80 Novelty Gum Co. "League of Nations" Display Box - with 86 Original and Unopened 1-Cent Wax Packs ! This incredible box originally held 100 one-cent wax packs, and 86 are still present ! These extraordinary unopened wax packs are in virtually perfect condition. They look exactly as they must have appreared when they were sent from the Novelty Gum Co. to the gum and candy distributor in 1934, and they hve remained untouched in their original display box for more than seven decades. The display box is in Excellent condition. It is extremely rare to encounter complete or nearly complete boxes of any 1930s products in their original, unopened form ! Also included are nine of the special and beautifully produced card-storage boxes made for the "League of Nations" issue; these are still housed in the counter-display box (exactly as designed and originally packaged), and they are all in Mint condition!
