Hassan Animals - T29 Set Information written by Bob Forbes

This series consists of 80 portraits of various African animals and was actually issued as two 40-card series. Cards of the first series (issued in the summer and fall of 1909) have only Hassan ads on the backs. Those from the second series (late 1909 and early 1910) have descriptive text on the backs. As most collectors view the two groups as one series, they are combined here in one checklist. The cards can also be found with a small "Factory No. 25, 2d Dist. VA" line in the bottom border on the fronts. This variety has plain backs. The same designs were used in numerous other card and silk issues.
