Information from Bob Forbes This series of birds has two types - white bordered and gold bordered cards - each having 50 cards. The set was distributed by the American Tobacco Company in late 1910 and early 1911 with several brands of cigarettes. Type 1 cards were distributed with American Beauty, Emblem, Mecca, Old Mill, Piedmont, Sovereign, and Sweet Caporal cigarettes. Type 2 cards were issued with Cycle, Mecca, Old Mill, Piedmont, and Sweet Caporal cigarettes. The American Beauty cards were trimmed before distribution due to the size of the packaging.
