Fable Series - T57 Bob Forbes' Information

This series is a collection of pictures describing a situation found in an old fable such as "The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs" and "The Turtle and the Hare." The backs tell a story about the picture and contain a moral that translates to daily life. The set was produced in two series, 1-50 and 51-100, by the American Tobacco Company and was issued with packages of Turkish Trophy cigarettes. Based on company records, the first series was issued from late 1910 through early 1911 and the second in early 1912. Cards of the second series are more difficult to find.
