Notes: Checklist Incomplete. The cards advertise Eligio Pugi, a company in Beziers, Southern France, which sold hats, shirts, hosiery and gloves according to the back text. French collector Serge Plumecocq adds that Beziers is a wine-growing town near Spain that had 70,000 inhabitants in 1931. There was a live mannequin in the window! Serge uncovered a 1934 ad for the store that offered a goldfish with 20 francs of purchases.
This set appears to have the same fronts as The Majestic Cinema Les Vedettes Paramount Set as three cards match the listing to date. These cards may also be found with other Cinemas and companies advertised on the back. These cards can also be found blank backed. It is likely that these cards were given out at movie theaters.
