Notes: Checklist incomplete. These cards were offered by a seller from Turkey who indicated that these are small cards, measuring approximately 1" x 1 3/4" in size. Though the cards themselves do not indicate who issued them, there were some wrappers with the cards that showed that they were issued with Cowboy Chewing Gum. The cards do not have a uniform look, with some showing different numbering styles.
Card #90 in the checklist below was found with the other cards, but has Mabel wording on the bottom, so it was probably a separate issue. Click the small picture above to view a picture checklist of these cards.
Date info: Collector Tom Carfagno points out that the #43 John Wayne card shows him in an image with Max Terhune and Ray Corrigan as The Three Mesquiteers. Those films were made in 1938 and 1939, so this set cannot have been issued earlier than 1938. Buck Jones died in 1942 and World War II put a stoppage on most card sets around the world in about 1940, so this set was probably issued sometime between 1938 and 1940. I'm placing a 1939 date on this set, though it could be off by a year.
