Notes: Checklist incomplete. The backs give the address being 191 Juppe Street. Johannesburg. According to collector Richard Minns, "Laurie (Lawrence) Stevens was a boxer born in Johannesburg who owned a factory and sports shop after the Second World War. I'm not entirely sure of the connection but I assume these were manufactured and sold here."
Numbers 1-24 can be found with both 'Series of 24' and 'Series of 48' on the backs. Presumably these were issued in two halves.
Date info: The last film credit for Butch Jenkins was in 1948. Amanda Blake's first film credit was in 1950, though her roles probably didn't make her worthy of a movie star card until a couple years after that. There is some brief biographical text on the backs, so a study of the back text might pin down the date a little closer.
