Notes: Checklist incomplete. Cards are postcard sized with text on the back at the base. Cards have been seen with blank backs or the stamps of patisseries and confectioners suggesting they were available across a number of stores.
According to French collector Serge Plumecocq, the Royal company was founded in 1946 and disbanded in 1962. The company was very active in the 1949 Tour de France caravan (distributing gum and holding contests).
Cards were issued with and without numbers on the fronts - they appear to be two different series. Numbers are small and hard to read. Some of the numbers in the checklist may be incorrect.
Date info: Elvis Presley, Valerie Allen, and Beatrice Altariba started in films in 1956. Henri Vidal died in 1959. This set was likely issued during this time period. I'm placing a 1958 date on this set as that is kind of the sweet spot for the majority of movie stars in this set, though it could be off by a year or two.
