Ruiz Romero issued a number of movie star sets in the 1950s that looked very similar to each other. They all had a black and white picture of a movie star on the front with no identifying text on the front, with a postcard style back, though these are not postcards, they are small cards that are paper thin.
The checklists below cover four different sets, with each set being issued with their own album. The first set was issued in 1954, the second in 1955, the third in 1956, and the fourth in 1958. The back designs for the first and third sets look identical - the only way to know if you are looking at a first or third series card is by the number in the checklist. In the second set from 1955, "Segunda Serie" is written in a line of text below the name of the movie on the back side of the cards. In the fourth set from 1958, "Cuarta Serie" is written in a line of text below the name of the movie on the back side of the cards.
The dates for the first four series were listed on the albums.
The checklists below show the cards issued in the first four sets. It is likely there was at least one more set, as there are additional cards that I have seen that do not fit into these checklists. There is a card #198 of Tuesday Weld that lists the movie "High Time" which was released in 1960, which is after these first four sets.
It looks like the first set from 1954 was issued regularly and with reverse images. I've seen reverse image variations of three of those cards (#14, 64, 69) and suspect all of them can probably be found in reverse image.
