Notes: Checklist incomplete. These perforated cards contain some text on the back that indicates that these are coupons to benefit the blind. Some have punch holes indicating they were turned in for a promotion or event. The cards from Serie C say SANTANDER, though the cards from Serie G and Serie H do not have the SANTANDER text. The cards indicate that each Serie contains 15 cards.
There is an album that was issued with this set. The album seen has the title "La Hispalense" which is sometimes seen printed on the stamp cards. It also contains the name "Sociedad de Ciegos," and "Ciegos" is usually seen on the stamps. Each page in the album holds space for 15 cards, and each page represents a different series.
There are two different sets of these with two different albums. The first album contains spaces for Serie A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H. The second album contains spaces for Serie V, W, X, Y, Z, and ZZ. The first album consists of 120 cards and the second album consists of 90 cards, for 210 total cards.
These cards were also issued with an ad for LEAL in the middle of the backs with SANTANDER at the bottom. This group of cards has front text in blue with full first names shown. These also do not show perforations.
Collector Serge Plumecocq did some research on the society of the blind in Spain. Small raffle coupons were created illegally starting in the early 1930s to support the blind, with movie stars and other picture subjects eventually being added to the coupons. They were also eventually legalized. The ONCE museum in Spain has information about these coupon promotions on their website.
