Notes: Tiny cards. There was an album made for these cards that contains spaces for both the first and second series cards.
In the May/June 1954 issue of The Cameric Cigarette Card Club Notes and News magazine, Mr. Easson writes about this set. "I should like to point out that there are evidently three printings of these little cards. Regarding the printing which Mr. A. E. Pitts refers to as the first printing, i.e., without the "Greetings-Wow" on, I have not had the pleasure of seeing, but the printing referred to with the words "Greetings-Wow," can be found in two distinct different printings, one with the number directly above the O of Wow, and the other with the number directly above the second W of Wow. Regarding the latter printing I have seen all numbers, but would point out that on No. 7 the figure 7 is slightly past the W. No. 43, William Holden, I have seen only with broken type making the number look like No. 4. Evidently the 3 is broken off, also part of the W." Editor H. E. Wareham added the following: "To add to what Mr. Easson has to say, I have seen No. 43 without broken type, also No. 17 with several letters missing from the printing; this in the printing with number above W. I also have No. 27, in this printing where the printing from back is superimposed upon the picture."
Date info: In the January/February 1954 issue of The Cameric Cigarette Card Club Notes and News magazine, it is noted that "...Myers & Metreveli... are at present concentrating on their new line, a 1d. one, called, Wow Bubble Gum." Because of the date of the magazine, this indicates that this set first came out in late 1953.
