Notes: Blank-backed, no company name listed. This is an anonymous set without numbering. I gave it the name "Dutch Unnumbered Set 1" to distinguish it from other similar anonymous sets - the cards do not say Set 1 on them.
Many of the cards in this set are in groups that follow a common theme. For example, there are 8 Beatles cards, 13 Winnetou cards, 8 Bonanza cards, 5 cards showing Roger Moore in "Ivanhoe", 4 cards of Brigitte Bardot and 4 more of Cliff Richard. Two of the Beatles cards also feature an uncredited Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) sparring with the Beatles.
The cards are almost always found with blank backs, but collector Barry Beckett has one with text on the back. The text encourages you to chew RT medical chewing gum.
The packets that these cards came in have a title of TV-64 10 Popbilder. These cards continued to be issued the following year in packets titled TV65 10 Popbilder. The TV65 packets also had "Rolling-Stones" written at the top of the packet. An auction seller showing the contents of an original packet of these TV65 cards showed 9 cards from the original 1964 set plus one new card of Rolling Stones member Keith Richards. Because of the popularity of the Rolling Stones in 1965, it appears that some Rolling Stones cards originally showed up in these packets, and then the Rolling Stones cards continued to be issued with the newer TV66 cards the following year while the rest of the TV64 cards were discontinued.
The checklist below is listed in alphabetical order by the first word listed. This is because this set is a mixture of real people's names, character names, TV show titles, and band names. It is easier to keep things straight by listing them this way. I am also showing a picture checklist of this set to make it easier to see exactly the cards in this set, since there are multiple cards with the same caption in this set and other similar sets around.
