Notes: Checklist may be complete. The Huber's Bread group of these cards were issued with blank backs. An ad for the Huber Bread promotion states that there are 96 cards in this giveaway. There was an album issued for this set. There is also a fan showing cards from this set.

The cards used for this set contain the same fronts as those used in the Distinguished Players group (listed in the Theatre Sets section). There are over 200 different cards in the Distinguished Players group of cards. The Huber Bread set contains a subset of the entire group of Distinguished Players cards. These cards all came from the same source, and can be considered one large group of cards, much like the T206 baseball set was issued with many different brands of cigarettes with differences in which particular cards can be found with a particular brand.

Some of the captions in the Huber Bread set are positioned a little differently than the other groups of these cards. For example, the Jane Gail card has her name centered and raised up about a 1/2 inch from the bottom on other cards from this group, but the Huber bread version shifts her name to the left a bit and positions the name at the very bottom of the card. The Mae Marsh card from other groups has her name in black ink and raised about 1/2 inch from the bottom, while the Huber Bread version has her name in white ink and at the very bottom left of the card. The Mae Marsh Huber Bread card also has a different photo cropping, zooming back a bit to show more of the picture. These are just examples, as there are other cards that have differences, too.

There are two different cards for Madge Kennedy, showing two different photos, one showing her standing in a full body pose, the other with just head and shoulders with some flowers in front of her. In original albums of cards seen for this set, I haven't seen these two cards together yet. It is possible that the full body card was replaced with the head and shoulders version at some point, as the full body card is the only card in this set that shows a star in a full body pose, and the issuers may have wanted to standardize the look of that card.

Since the Huber Bread cards have blank backs, it is difficult to tell if a loose blank-backed card from this group is a Huber Bread card or a card from another group of these cards, since some other groups also have blank backs. Most of these existing cards are found stuck into their albums, making identification as a Huber card much easier.

Date info: An ad for the Huber Bread movie star card promotion dates the start of the promotion at January 3, 1922.
