Notes: These cards can be found with an ad for either Recruit, Coupon, or Athletic tobacco products on the back. The American Card Catalog number for this set is T82. The card fronts for this set are identical to the Imperial Tobacco Movie Stars set issued in Canada.
The exact date of this set is unknown, but after an extensive check of the Internet Movie Database, I am listing a date of 1916. Just about all of the stars in this set were in their prime in 1915-1917. The Ruth Roland card mentions a movie released in 1915, dating the set at 1915 at the earliest. Mary Fuller, Florence Labadie, and Norma Phillips were in their last movie in 1917, suggesting the set was issued no later than 1917. According to the IMDB, James Cruze was in his first movie in 1918, and Crane Wilbur was in his first movie in 1917. There are holes in the IMDB data for very early movies, and I am guessing Cruze and Wilbur were in movies before the ones listed, and these have just not been submitted to the IMDB yet.
