Notes: The 1934 Dixie lid set was issued three ways. There was a wine colored version, a Mystery Lids version, and a blue colored version. The wine colored version was the standard version for the 1934 lids, but at the end of the year, these lids were also issued in a blue version. Blue lids can only be found in medium size.
The Mystery Lids version showed the same picture as the regular version with a blanked out face of the star. These mystery lids were worth double when returning the lids to get the Dixie Lids premiums. To get a Dixie Lids premium, 12 regular lids had to be submitted. Dixie Lids premiums were large 9" x 11" pictures of the same movie stars shown on the lids.
There are two main sizes for the 1934 lids (2 1/4" or 2 3/4" diameter), but they can also be found in two other very rare diameters - 2 1/8" or 2 1/2".
This set contains multiple variations in the movie titles listed on the cards. The checklist below shows the number of movie titles for each of the stars and the names of the movie titles are listed when they are known.
