Notes: Checklist incomplete. Unnumbered. I couldn't find "Shadow of the Eagle" or Pic Smith listed in the Internet Movie Database, so I don't have any information about the date of this issue.
Mark Handley did some research on this set and contributes the following interesting information: I did some research on and off the web and I am convinced that the El Capitan must be the big one on Hollywood Blvd. that is now owned by Buena Vista pictures. It was built in 1926 and the serial "The Shadow of the Eagle" was made in 1932 starring a young John Wayne in 12 installments (226 minutes). This was also made into a feature which you can find on IMDB. I haven't been able to find Pic Smith in any of the cast lists but "By George" he looks to be an upright Brit aviator to me.
