Kinema Theatre

Issuing Company: Kinema Theatre
Country of Issue: USA
Year of Issue: 1918-19

Number of Cards in Set:
Card Size: 1 13/16" x 2 11/16"
Issued as insert with what product: Given to patrons of the theatre.

Notes: Checklist probably incomplete. Unnumbered. The card backs contain the name of the movies that will be shown in the upcoming week. Week (month-day) is listed, but the year is not usually listed. This was a continuing series of cards that went on for several years, with a new card each week, with some changes made to the back information from time to time. Generally the backs show the name of the theatre with some show information for the upcoming week. Some cards show movie information for only the Kinema Theatre, while others show information for both the Kinema and Franklin Theatres.

Though these are smaller cards than usual for Theatre cards, they are packed with more movie information than usual for this type of card, usually including the story line for the upcoming movie or movies.

One card indicates the Kinema Theatre was located on Broadway at 15th, but none of the cards that I've seen shows the name of the city.

Date info: The cards seen were issued in 1918 and 1919, though it is very possible that more of these cards could have been issued earlier and/or later.
