Patheserial Movie Stars

Notes: Checklist incomplete. Unnumbered. This checklist shows a number of different card sets with a common front design. These sets were all issued in conjunction with Saturday serial movies put out by the Pathe studio. All of these sets say "Patheserial" on the fronts.

It appears that each set of cards was for a particular movie serial, with varying numbers of cards issued for each film. Cards for seven different movie serials have been seen so far, with others likely.

These cards were issued by multiple different theatres, some with printed backs, some with blank backs, and some with blank backs with stamped information. Theatres seen so far for this set:

Date info: The cards for the "Into the Net" group were issued in 1925, as that film came out in 1924 and the year April 11 fell on a Saturday was 1925. The cards from the other films were probably also issued around the 1925 timeframe, though they could have been issued a year earlier or later.

• The Fortieth Door (Allene Ray) (printed back from Queen's Theatre - the back indicates there were 16 different cards issued for this movie, though only one has been seen)
• The Green Archer (Allene Ray and Walter Miller) (blank back with Queen's Theatre stamp on backs - two cards seen)
• Idaho! (Mahlon Hamilton and Vivian Rich) (blank back - 1 card seen)
• Into the Net (Edna Murphy and Jack Mulhall) (printed back from Playhouse Theatre and black backs seen - the printed back indicates there were 16 different cards issued for this movie. Seven have been seen)
• Leatherstocking (Edna Murphy and Harold Miller) (four cards seen)
• Ruth on the Range (Ruth Roland) (printed back from Lorenz Theatre - the back indicates there were 15 different cards issued for this movie, with two cards seen)
• Sunken Silver (Allene Ray and Walter Miller) (blank back - 5 cards seen)
